A Message From Your Tail-Twister

As this years tail-twister, I would like to ask for any ideas you may have. Maybe some of you have enjoyed programs or activities from the other club's meetings which we possibly could incorporate into ours. My e-mail

What's Happening

Lion Bill Pape brought a new member into our club at our first meeting of the year. Our newest member is Paul Sherr. His wife is Rose Mary. So we are off to a good start for the new year. Our club was recently recognized at the August cabinet meeting for having the best membership gain in the district, so maybe we can do it again this year. King Lion Jerry is going to give us all invitation cards to pass out to prospective members this year. The club made $178 selling hot dogs at Summer-Fest in August. Karen Packham of Project Grace has taken tickets to pre-sell for the October roast beef dinner. El Sprague and Eldred Harmon received plaques for 50 years each in our club. We still have several open dates on the speaker calendar, see me to help out by taking a date. We received a thank-you for loaning the Historical Society some tables to help them with their annual fundraiser, in which they raised $3,390. We also received a plaque from the town for donating the flag

pole to the new town park. At the September board meeting we voted to donate $1000 to the district fundraiser to go to the LCIF Katrina Relief Fund, and make a $250 donation to the Iris Network, and a $300 donation to Scarborough Community Services to help with this year's Haunted Hayride. Lion John Maroon acted as President at the September 15th meeting and Lion Kay Hansen acted as Secretary. Speaker for the meeting was Mike Maroon talking about the resident property tax refund for senior citizens. We received a team picture and plaque from our club sponsored Little League team, who are the town champions. I will be holding a folder with available speakers if anyone needs help getting a speaker for your night. Thank-you to those of you who took a date.

  Hot Air Balloon

The woman replied, "You in a hot air balloon hovering about 30 feet above ground. You are 30 to 31 degrees north latitude, and 95 to 96 degrees west longitude."

"You must be an engineer", said the
