    About the Friends

The Friends of the Scarborough Library is a nonprofit civic-minded organization committed to supporting the Scarborough Public Library and to increasing the public's awareness of the many benefits the Library offers Scarborough's growing community. Governed by a Board of Directors, the Friends work in partnership with the Board of Trustees and the professional Library staff. Hundreds of members of the Scarborough community contribute to the Friends by paying membership fees, volunteering time, and donating used books for our annual book sale.

Tidbit -- The Friends has grown from 22 members in its first year (1970) to 261 members as of November 2011. Thank you to all these supporters of the Friends and the Library!
